Featured NEW MUSIC: Fly Moon Royalty – “Betta Have My Money”

by admin

2012 continues to be a busy year for Seattle’s Fly Moon Royalty. The young electro-soul duo comprised of singer AdraBoo and producer Action Jackson have not only released their official debut album, the self-titled Fly Moon Royalty, but they’ve taken to stages far-and-wide, including at last month’s SXSW music festival, to share the new music with fans. Now, with a new, soon-to-be-titled EP on the way, Fly Moon Royalty is excited to release their latest non-album loosie, “Betta Have My Money.”

The song is built around a sample from the Betty Davis classic “If I’m In Luck I Might Get Picked Up,” and the old school soul track also inspired AdraBoo’s lyrical direction on this new cut. “It keeps that same funk attitude,” notes Fly Moon Royalty, “but it takes you into the whore house that ‘Boo built.”

Although the song doesn’t appear on Fly Moon’s album, those that have been to a recent show will likely find the track familiar. “This song is one of my favorites to perform,” says AdraBoo. “It’s got a laid back, grimy kind of sexy to it – it’s provocative!”
