Featured NEW MUSIC: Kid Static – “Rocks & Toothpicks”

In just a few short weeks, on June 5th, Kid Static will release his latest solo effort,It Gleams, via Cobra Music. In the last two months, since announcing the album, the Los-Angeles-via-Chicago rapper has given fans a few teasers from the album – the streetwear-themed banger“T-Shirts & Sneakers,”the mesmerizing visual that accompanies ”Moonlight”– and now, Static is excited to release the third official single from It Gleams,“Rocks & Toothpicks.”

Despite having the beat for a while, “Rocks & Toothpicks” manifested for Static after one tumultuous night in Chicago. “Circumstances and alcohol got out of control, and I ended up in a fight late night,” says Kid Static. “I woke up the next morning with a sick hangover and these lyrics.” Amid all the angst, Kid Static managed to extract something meaningful from the song’s inspiration. “Fighting is fun when you win,” he says. “Don’t be stupid and lose fights.”
