‘Mo Money, Mo Problems’: Rihanna Suing Accountants

First Nicole Murphy, then Mary J. Blige, and now Rihanna?! These financial handlers must be related or something because more and more these celebrities are wondering where their money has gone? The Bajan princess filed a lawsuit against her former accountants Thursday, with claims that they [defrauded her of tens of millions of dollars, were horrible bookkeepers, and failed to recommend cutting expenses when a 2009 tour was losing money.]

According to many reports, including (Ebony.com), Rihanna is now looking to collect unspecified [change] from the New York-based Berdon LLP and two accountants. It’s been reported that not only is she suing under her real name, Robyn Fenty, but Rihanna has also made allegations through her attorneys that the [defendants drained revenues while she launched four national and international tours over a five-year period.] via Ebony.com

The lawsuit which goes into some further details allegedly claims that the former accountant’s unusual practice of [paying itself commissions on revenues] was unusual and created a clear conflict of interest. Rihanna has since then fired the firm and its accountants.

It becomes so hard to trust people who won’t screw you over for money, especially in the industry.
