Joanna Pearl, a singer/songwriter is an up and coming artist with an undeniable passion for music and right now she’s working on her first EP. The exciting sound that she has made her own is certain to gain interest from young and old alike.

Joanna was born in Illinois, but raised in California and experienced the music industry early on by dabbling in recording in Nashville. She has always had a special place in her heart for country but Joanna describes her sound as a mix between Rhythm and Blues, Soul and Pop. Her intensity for singing stems from being able to live through music and also to tell others about herself through her music. When asked about where she gets her inspiration she commented, “I believe songs are a form of storytelling and I always try to convey that in my singing. If I can’t feel it,
then I usually won’t do it any justice by trying to sing it.” She also had to say this about her songwriting, “I relate to others through my writing. I write from the heart and always try to relate to others by writing what I’m feeling. It’s a direct reflection of who I am.”

In 2010, Joanna was the winner of the Cree Ingles Idol Search Season 8 on YouTube and came in 4th in the MyndJack Radio Idol Contest Season 3. In each contest, she was always praised for her singing and even told that she sang the cover songs that she did better than the original artists. Joanna is a member of The Recording Academy, Grammy Museum and a founding member of the OC Hit Factory Songwriting Camps.

Joanna is also a huge humanitarian in that she supports many charities including the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The American Heart Association, Michelle’s Place, Oak Grove Center For Education Treatment & The Arts, Make A Wish Foundation, and many more. She gives freely of her time and talent to just about any charity that has asked anything of her. Her original song “Whispers The Wind” (released on iTunes) is not only raising money for breast cancer research, but was placed in “Murphy”, a Hollywood Independent Film, currently in major film festivals.

In February 2013, Joanna was awarded the “40 Under Forty” achievement by the City of Murrieta and California State Senator, Joel Anderson. In addition, she has placed Top 12 in the 2012 and 2013 Singer-Songwriter Competitions at the San Diego County Fair. In the Summer of 2013, Joanna embarked on her first regional tour, spanning from Los Angeles to San Diego. In addition to her regional tour, Joanna has played several venues around Southern California including having been invited to play the House of Blues San Diego.
